Blocked Ears

This may seem a bit random but..

I have a cold and find it rally hard to unblock my ears.
At the moment one ear is completely blocked and the other will unblock normally.
Neither yawning, swallowing or pinching my nose and pushing works.
Does anyone have anyways that will work as it is very, VERY frustrating

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.

Yeah I get it quite often only not when I get a cold. I seem to have an abnormally large wax build up about every 4 or 5 months or so. If you have a cold, it should clear normally. If it doesnt, go to the chemist and buy some 'waxsol' fill your ear with it and leave it overnight. The wax should fall out over the course of 3 or 4 days. If this doesnt work, go and get your ears syringed (spelling?)

I don't think it's to do with wax as the blockage occurs when I'm walking to school (descending from about 1500 feet - 100 feet)
I know it should clear naturally but it is really annoying.

Theres a little tube inside your ear thats supposed to equalise the pressure. If your sick, sometimes it swells up and blocks.

Yeah I think I know what you mean.
I read that if it doesn't clear up, the doctor does what you said and syringes it and poke hole somwhere in your ear to let out the pressure.

The syringing is squirting water into your ear and it should blow a hole in whatever is blocking it. If the tube is swollen on its own then syringing wont help. Its only if its blocked by FOD winkyy.gif

don't worry. Not old enough to fly a/c as of yet. And I should probably not that you inhale the stuff but it's working very well.

The eustachian tube is what gets blocked

and normally you do the valsalva maneuver to fix it wink.gif
