Just thought this might interest some of the older members of NZFF laugh.gif :

Dad's finally found a Leyland Octopus with an Ergomatic cab to restore. He's been wanting to do this for ages, so he finally has. We're about 2/3 of the way through the restoration, which luckily wasn't a very big one as the truck was in fairly good condition when we got her. All the photos were taken at dad's mate Vic's place on the Hayward's hill road. Anyway, here are the pics:

The day she arrived:

What we were up against with the chassis:

The Deck that's going on:

Vic's New Beaver out for the first time:

After the chassis was painted:

With the wheels back on:

With the deck on to measure it up:

Enjoy!

Hmmm interesting thing to restore - the cab looks like it is in good nick. Well it be used commercially or is just a restore and admire thing? What sort of age is the truck (early 70's?)?

Restoring it just for fun.. to take on rallies etc. I think it's a 1970. 260hp turbo (i think). She sounds awesome!

Got her COF! And there's no muffler.. Just a turbo and a long stainless pipe..
All that needs to be done now is to repaint the cab and Redo all the upholstery, so that eventually she'll look like this:

This is where we are as of yesterday:

These trucks really don't look that impressive until they're heard.
