RIP Sir Tim Wallis

What an amazing man. I had the pleasure of meeting him many years ago. My Wife at the time was a Wanaka girl and went to school with one of the Wallis boys.
So holidays with the inlaws always ended up with some sort of contact with that family.
I recall they had a little fox terrier that used to fly with whoever was flying on the day.

My sister-in-law (at that time) also looked after him after the Spitfire accident, she was a head injury nurse.

I may have met him once but I don't recall. He certainly left his mark on the industry. I saw him flying ZK-XVI the day before his ill fated flight in the other Spitfire. I know the old man went flying with him a few times in 500s.

One of NZs greats. An amazing life with a lot of tragedy too.
