Virtual Reality VR Flying in the HP Reverb G2 is upon the Flight Sim community

Postby Radar88 » Thu Nov 19, 2020 4:01 pm

From You Tuber VR Flight Sim Guy he's had his HP Reverb G2 since the start of November and is a Microsoft Flight Simulator VR Beta Tester who's currently under NDA.

He has reiterate the comment made previously by the head of Microsoft Flight Simulator Jorg Neumann, from one the MSFS Asobo Developer Q&A sessions and is in agreement with the comment made that VR in Microsoft Flight Simulator is simply Amazing.

Here's his initial Reverb G2 Flight Sim impressions video's in AFS2, XPlane, DCS and commentary from the past few weeks.

Please note if you've never flown in VR before and think that you might be susceptible towards having Motion Sickness. He recommends starting off with small steps, like with doing a small 5 minute flight session wearing a VR headset then having like an hours break, then come back for another try of a longer 10 minute flight session. Then take a another break away from the VR Headset and re-try longer and longer VR Flights each time to help ease you into VR Flying and getting use to the immersion of VR.

AFS2 has everyone beat at present, you can taste the metal on the wing strut of the Camel :)

I have no problems in real world flying having flown aerobatics and pulled up to 6g. But I can only fly for about 10 minutes with VR before I get nauseous. My son has the VR headset and uses it for car racing, so its not exclusively for use with FS.

Don't get me wrong its very immersive and I love it, but need to crack the disconnect between the eyes and brain !!

Charl, I came perilously close without benefit of VR, trying to get a handle on the Apache

Here's a Real World Canadian Covid layoff Dash 8 Q400 Captain Pilot Emilie Who's turned to Microsoft Flight Simulator while not real world commercial flying and is now getting a growing Microsoft Flight Simulator Community following on You Tube due to her MSFS antics.

She's just received the HP Reverb G2 from HP. She's not previous had any VR experience so here's her introduction to VR with her amusing reaction video.
