Im not sure what to think ... AKL on level 3, 60% of those in charge of isolation/ border control have never been tested ..... China has discovered that this COVID thing has been detected (alive) on frozen/chilled imports and have stopped imports from Brazil etc.....(Mike Hosking 0620 this morning)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but along with passengers, we have been importing stuff from overseas since the last lockdown...... ummmm

It's been a long time since I came across Mike Hosking, but I am aware that part of his job is to freak people out. From what I've heard about the border control folk, not all of them are 'front line', so that percentage is probably fine. However I am not so sure that we know enough about covid to rule out transmission via frozen imports. That would be a real blow to a lot of the world, but probably good for NZ in the long-term -- if it does turn out to be a factor, then once we get covid-free (again,) it might open up a whole new export market.
Really, it was always inevitable that we get another outbreak, and it is a good test of the system -- which seems to be performing well. I'm quietly confident at the moment, but ask me again if we get an outbreak in the south....

What would the mess be like if we had a National government? any better than it is now or worse as they wanted the boarders opened up weeks ago.

Yeah, I didn't want to get into politics, but....
Sometimes I want to throw things at the TV at the govt's response, but really I can't think of anyone who could have handled this better. I'm getting to that age where I need a govt which at least seems to want to keep me alive. And that ain't 'Crusher'!

So sick of Hoskings and his anti Labour ranting. I don't support any party but i do draw the line at American style political reporting...it is hideous and so damaging.
In Auckland have to put up with Mr and Mrs Hosking on both 1ZB and the Herald. They have way to much media time.

Yeah, I'd love a NZ-based comic based on Sub17's, um, beliefs.

Good work, admin...
I was thinking about why the govt would want us all to lose our sense of smell, and the only thing I can think of is that our lizard overlords smell a bit.... lizardy. So they can't walk among us until they aren't so noticeable.
Of course lizard people don't really exist, but if they did they'd be very nice folk, so please be kind. In fact that's their catch-cry! Be kind!
