No pics I'm sorry because I didn't think I would see anything ...but .... My partner and I went for a walk yesterday (Shes not well but managed 3km) We have a little lake close by, so we went there.
Spotted 2 Canada geese (more about them later) and this really odd looking Duck ...since identified as an Australasian shovel bill ..."beautiful plumage"
And then again tonight, on the back lawn ...... may not mean much to many.... but ...I spotted an all black Fantail ... piwakawaka ...AND , an all white sparrow. Sorry again for no photos ...but who would have known.

Re the Canada Geese, yesterday we saw at least 5 V formations of these heading north ...even got to see the formation lead change over ..... leader moves back and number 2 moves into lead.
Was this a migration? I thought our local golf course wreaking Canadas stayed local.

Great report, there, Marty. My son and I were talking about a photo safari a while ago, as I really, really want to photograph a black fantail.
Funny to think how wildlife may make a bit of a comeback around our cities, for a short time at least.

Hmmm now that reminds me of the treat from the last weeks Microsoft Flight Simulator update.

Bird watching is going to be something to look forward to in the new Microsoft Flight Simulator judging by this Alpha User screenshot.

There’s been a few NOTAM’s out regarding Canadian geese flying past Napier and Auckland airport in the last week
