Getting that download sppeed is possible in New Zealand but upload the fastest I could find is 512Kbps most plans only offer 128kbps though.

You do realise though that unless the person organising this is physically in New Zealand then they will argue the toss that this is possible. Most outsiders dont understand how backward our telecomunications have got, and limited options are controlled by Telecom.

Only thing I can think of is cable -- Telstaclear offers 2MB each way on their cable accounts, but of course you'd need to find someone in their service area...

i think the telstra clear cable only runs in limited parts of wellington and christchurch
i bet teamspeak chews through the data caps like nothing else... proceed with caution (or an open cheque book)

Just to echo Alex's comments regarding TS, I used to run a TS server and found it used very little bandwidth and data. When you think about it, it is often used in FPS games (BF2 etc) when ping is very important. We use it for gaming with no noticeable effect on ping times.

IF anyone wants a TS server for a one-off purpose you could use KiwiSim's and create a channel I guess, or ask them for a dedicated channel...

kiwisim.net.nz

Edit:
I just checked the server we use for IL2. It is provided by Inspire, the adress in TS is teamspeak.inspire.net.nz

You are unable to create a channel unfortunately, however there is a "flight sim" channel anyone could use.

Hmm yea it seems that TelstraClear service is only available around WLG and CHC. Problem is, our server (if manage to procure one) would be based in Auckland <_< .
