Right place and (almost) the right time? Maybe not, had to pull up quick and shoot through the dirty windscreen to get this as it departed...so not a great photo. Also it looked like a Gulfstream followed it out, may have been the NASA jet (little pods under the wings, white/grey and blue livery right?).

I find it somewhat ironic that one of the nick names for the 747 is Whale.
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

Well least there is something .. the research word - found in Christchurch .. the 'Ole Honorable' Paper bag < wheely wheely great < speaking Japanese Ianglish .. after used can be folded to make very nice paper 747.
