While waiting at the airport today for a flat mate to arrive (and she didn't ... a long story) , i had the chance to see a B-1900 up close .... departing on 29.
My goodness , what a butt ugly aircraft , what were Beechcraft thinking when they did that ? .... the front looks like its suffered a head injury , and all that stuff hanging on the back end .

Just a personal observation , no disrespect intended. winkyy.gif

Yeah its a funny old world huh, lots of B1900D haters, some who prefer the older C-model. I actually quite like the looks of the D, don't ask me why smile.gif
Have a similar argument with a cobber of mine who's into real world aviation but NOT simming, who can't stand the Dash8 for some reason, but likes the ATR.... go figuire ?!?!?

Well same could be said for a Bristol Freighter, and the classic line from the USAF base commander when it arrived at Tan Son Nhut in 1965, "is that the aircraft or the packing case it come in" .

Every time I see a Dash8, it reminds me of the HP Hampden, which was known as The Flying Suitcase - the Dash has a pair of them, one under each wing.

The B1900 works from some angles, just check out that lovely banner at the top of the forum.
I guess it's like anything, if you look at it long enough you start to appreciate it.

For me it's less to do with looks, and more to do with my experiences with an aircraft -- 737s, for instance, are how you get to funerals, business meetings and job interviews, so they don't have a lot going for them, no matter how pretty they are. Most of the other 7x7s take friends and family away quite often, and hardly ever bring them back, which makes them kinda dreadful.
The 1900D always take me somewhere fun, no responsibilities, even if it's work-related it's more like a holiday.

Dont get me wrong , i dont hate it (the 1900D ) i was just commenting on how it looks , Robs banner flatters it very well.
As you know , i have no taste or valid comment when it comes to what looks good and what dosent ..... remember rolleyes.gif
