Just found out about this today:

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/2014/may/...rugby-match-usa

I don't live near Chicago, but depending on the cost of airline tickets, this may be worth going to!
Also, it's an obvious win for the All Blacks, as our national team (which most Americans are unaware of, if they are even aware that the sport of Rugby exists) isn't that great. In the unlikely event that I would go to this, I'd probably stock up on All Blacks gear and root for them! smile.gif

It'll be interesting to see how it turns out, has been featured on a "promo" basis on TV here, certainly a great stadium for it.

USA usually turns out a pretty useful side for World Cups etc, with emphasis on the physical aspects of the game. They usually
have a good collection of ex-pat Aussies, Poms, Sth Afrikaans and Kiwis to help out. I reckon it could be a great day out.

Ha!

I'm willing to give those people a pass on their lack of knowledge, as rugby isn't exactly popular in the US.

What would be more interesting to me though, is if they could find New Zealand on a map. Actually, in some parts of the country here, I'd be interested if they could find Australia on a map too. This is based off the fact that I recently saw the results of a map survey where people were asked where they thought Ukraine was. Some pointed to France, some pointed to Spain, some pointed to New Zealand, China, Italy, etc. There was a fair amount that got the general area right, and with a country like that, I'll give them a pass if they get as precise as just "eastern Europe" as it sometimes takes me a bit too with certain countries, but some of the results were just sad. (A few pointed to northern Canada)

Arr don't worry Sean, trust me we have them next door in Christchurch too ... Rick my avid hang glider pilot told one off his girl friends for day were going up on the port hills summit rd ... grab a tea towel and out run it thru one ear and out the other ... (only a 30 minute drive) She said "What there is a road up on those hills " ohmy.gif ... that is true blink.gif

Had to chuckle at some of the comments ... 'All Blacks' My family laugh.gif
