i didn't expect vista to be faster with the games, with more resources being hogged, and that seems to be the case.
though i would like to have seen FSX run on it, as it was developed to run under vista.

Wait until you get a dx10 graphics card then we can expect people getting Vista once some good dx10 sims are released.(or in the case of FSX you already have a reason) I'd wait though until the graphics card comes down in price.

its interesting to see shops selling "vista computers" with 512mb of RAM, youd be prety disapointed if you brought that system for well over a grand, xp only starts running well with 512mb...

I won't be getting vista for at least a year. Win XP does everythign I want it too just fine :P

and the home basic version, no doubt. it doesn't have all the nifty features that the premium version has (like aero).

10 reasons you don't need vista yet

I just got swamped by the MS marketing machine for Vista.
While coming up for a gulp of air, I noticed the pricing.
Can you see yourself shelling out 350 smackers - for a home upgrade??
And if you need the working business model, try $500, again upgrade price only.
I am keeping an eye on Vista OEM machines...

Vista Ultimate has a hefty price of $600? Luckily, I was able to get it from my parents 100% free, as a reward of working 7hours each day on the farm during the last 7 weeks of holidays B)

Ive got vista home premium on my Compaq Pressario V6126 (512ram and 1.6 Celeron) and is running better than i had expected, apart from Nokia PC suite not being compatible thus far,

Brownbox, that equates to $2.85 an hour (on a 5 day week) <_<

I know my pay is junk. I get $10.50 a week for working this long. Crappy I know, but in the end, with all these little extras, +biirthdays chirstmas etc, it ends up at about $3000 a year, not bad considering I am only 14, and for most of the year while at college, I only work 2 hours a day (get home at 4:30)
