There were two models that were seen in the Blenheim region a few years back, one belonging to Ivan Pettigrew, Ivan now lives in the UK still owns the model and has produced a set of plans for his model and has a dealer her in NZ, his model is however stand off scale, the wing is an open structure fabric covered so shows the ribs etc also has leading edge slats![]()
The other model also still exists and was recently flown at the Lake Forsyth event in Christchurch. This model is owned by Paul Bolton. This model is much more scale correct and was built from a three view picture.
I also have a printed copy and the build article for this model B170. This is an old model and built as a control line, I am considering having these blown up as they look pretty good scale wise and converting it to R/C.
All this reminded me of another model that I had forgotten about, the model was never built to be flown but as a static model and was in fact built by my neighbor who unfortunately passed away some time ago. This model hung for years above the fire in the Woodbourne Tavern in Renwick. I Knew that this model was in a side room at the Argosy Cafe and Restaurant in Woodbourne. I rung there tonight and it is still there so I am going to go check this out maybe this weekend.
