Just went outside for a ciggi .... and the back yard is full of birds , it wasn't so much the number , but the variety .

Sparrows , goldfinches , greenfinches, waxeyes, starlings a couple of blackbirds and a chaffinch ..... odd.

I feed the little buggers everyday ... cooked rice, peas and grain bread but ive never seen so many all together .... better go and prepare their lunch, could be the start of an uprising unsure.gif

Your mean but it is a cat so it does not really matter if ya mean to it. Yea here in aus we have lot less variety that come to you. I like King parrots, because some will land on you and you can hand feed them.

Funny you mention kea. When I was going to school in the South Island we used to go in school skiing trips up mount hutt. Watching the kea go to work was really cool. Some yuppie brought his new convertible up the mountain while we were there. The kea stopped trying to get the windscreen wipers of the bus and went to work on the roof of his car. Needless to say there was very little left when he got back. My grandfather has climbed every mountian in the South Island. He was always telling us stories of the kea landing on the roof of the huts and sliding down the tin until the got some food. Then the would take off and repeat he process the next day. Amazing birds they are. Just don't leave anything rubber on your car if you want it to stay there!!!
