Belated reminder about the significance of today, in Gods-own it is generally overlooked due to ANZAC day being our national day of remembrance.

On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918 the guns fell silent for the 1st time in 4 years ending the "Great War" in Western Europe which claimed over 16 million lives. About 10% of NZ's total population served during the conflict - a little over 100,000 and almost 60% became casualties, one of the highest amounts of any nation. NZ history

RIP all servicemen and woman who have died in the service of your country:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
Takeoff's are optional. Landings are mandatory.

I was flying at 1100 so it was a bit hard to have a moments silence.
