I could google i suppose , but Im sure you guys have the gen:

1: How many Andovers were made? ....i think 30, but please correct me.

2: How many are still flying?

3: Are there any on display anywhere?

I'll explain later, but its important i get the facts right.

Hi Marty the RNZAF had 10 registered in NZ but how many the RAF had is anybodies guess

Marty, the RAF had 31 with the rear loading ramp. That is the complete total that were built. 10 of those were sold to the RNZAF. There were other Andovers in RAF sevice but they were basically standard HS-748s.

I don't know of any Andovers left flying. The last ones were in Africa (ex RNZAF). I believe some of these may be still around as hulks or wrecks. I am not sure about any others on display but there must at least one in the UK.

Includes the fate of some of the RNZAF Andovers..Sudan, Belguim etc. There a nearly complete one still at Whenuapai (in 2011 anyway)

The Andover made a suitable platform for experimental trials and saw service with the Royal Aircraft Establishment and the Empire Test Pilots School. Three aircraft are currently operational at Boscombe Down in Wiltshire. The ETPS uses XS606 while QinetiQ (previously A&AEE) operates XS596 and XS646. The former aircraft is used to conduct Open Skies verification flights. The Treaty on Open Skies was agreed in Helsinki during 1992 at the end of the Cold War and allows each side over-flight facilities of their military installations.

Not a variant of the cargo/transport Andover but a VIP transport version of the HS 748.

Both former RAF and RNZAF[2] aircraft were later sold to civil operators, mainly in Africa. As of July 2010 a total of six ex-military Andovers remain in airline service.
