Wasn't sure where to post this , so i guess this is as good as any place.
Im back at the museum today.....doing the stuff i do...and while clearing stuff out from a corner of the the store, i found a window from an F-27.....and i got thinking.....this is all we have left of the old girls.

We all go on about the skyhawks (myself included) we screen the Hercs, the P-3's and the Andovers.......but nothing about the F-27's (correct me if Im wrong)
Its almost as if they were never here....sad.

Is there an FSX model that would suit an RNZAF repaint ? problem is i guess , the long range tanks....but , i ask again.....anything?

There is one freeware in the making but nothing of your standard run off the mill Fokker Friendship which really surprises me considering the usage .

Im not sure Naki, they have a 727 fuselage ...but Im not sure about the f-27. I think they ended up in asia somewhere , i know the Air force just about gave them away....but not to the right places sad.gif

I had a lot of great trips on those things, mainly over water but real nice flying.

The few went to the Thia Air force used then prity much the same as the RNZAF lessor in search rescue , they were looking at upgrading them to F-27Maritime , got the disposal list here and were the when here somewhere.

I was down in Blenheim a couple of weeks ago flying the F27 and noticed an F27 fuse sitting on the grass. It was painted dark gray but from the angle I couldn't tell if it was ex RNZAF or one of the 500 series that somebody was practising their painting skills on.

Any chance you photoing the cockpit to the heck every bolt and screw so we have a resource and archive here , close ups off all the gauges panels - window frame , levers , engine controls ... the lot ?

SA227, I think Ive seen the same thing....we also had one down here in CHC , that changed colour on a regular basis. I just hope the one you saw wasn't one of the ex RNZAF ones.

Ok done some research...all the RNZAF F27s were sold to the Philipines. At least one of them maybe flying. The others are stored or scrapped

Yep sure can. The 3 aircraft actually have 3 different cockpits, NAO is all the old steam powered stuff, no GPS and even still has the old hat racks in the cabin that were in the 100 series for those that are old enough to remember. POH and PAX look more modern and do have basic GPS, mind you they are 50,000 cycles younger biggrin.gif

The things i remember in a Fokker was also those brilliantly large windows biggrin.gif not in the front tho , be great to get a collection of hi res , funny feeling a F-27 may not be to far away requiring good series and detailed photo's . cool.gif

The F27 at Woodbourne is the ex NZ Post plane which had the accidental wheels up on the ground several years ago. They stripped it of parts and the fuse sat around until the Base Fire guys started to use it for training. It was later painted the RNZAF grey.
