I sure will be have a laugh over a bourben and coke next xmas eve thats for sure. The world was supposed to end half a dozen times this year alone.

The Mayan theory is pretty much de-bunked as they have several recorded several "periods" which end. 21 Dec 2012 is simply the end of the 5th period, so after that the sixth will start !!
Biblical Armageddon? I don't think so either.

However here's a scenario outside the square a little - Currently there is huge decline in the world economy, a number of dictatorship led countries have masses of citizens protesting and many first world countries are experiencing the beginnings of revolt against capitalism. If by the end of next year we had a total collapse of the worlds economy and then global anarchy this could also be "the end of the world" as we know it?

The world seems to be going that way for sure, but keep in mind theories like that only gained prominence after events like 9/11 and the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, and amidst the recent financial meltdown. I think this theory makes a little more sense now with things dwindling in Korea etc. However I'm not too fussed, as long as I get a copy of MS Flight before then I'm happy

"as we know it", i think thats the key....maybe its the start of a rise up against all the BS......and a time to get back to real stuff...ie, looking after each other and not putting a dollar value on every bloody thing.....maybe Im just old and grumpy, but it seems to me , no one gives a s**t these days , unless there's something in it for them selves . Time for a change, but when i look around at the present generation (NZFF members excluded) i dont see much hope.

Im living in an older part of CHC, and on both sides of me are 20 somethings ......he works, she stays home smoking dope from 0730 and "looking after " the pre 5 year olds........miss red and black hair and tats regularly heard to say to the wee kid "F*** off , Im serious....just F*** off".........i ask you , what hope has that little guy got......time for a change all right........white trash, nothing more.
Sorry too go on , but Im sick of it....all the inane cr@p music,and the "attitude".......if 2012 means and end to this BS, then bring it on.......Im heading to the hill's with a 7.62 and a heap of ammo.

I'm pretty sure the majority would agree with you. We are caught up in a PC (politically correct, not personal computers) driven world and sometimes it seems those of us who want things to be sorted out, have no way to sort out some of this cr@p. Not when judges can't hand out decent sentences, councils can't evict law breaking protesters without months of court action, baby killers can just say nothing and not be arrested.... the list goes on.


There are also too many people out there that expect everything to be given them.

I feel the same way reguarding the last few posts, I could easily join the "No one gives a damn" majority but I can't. I have a 4 y.o son and his generation have to inherit this god forsaken messed up planit.
I cant believe the cr@p that the everyday kiwi is dishing out to this anti wall street movement. They are the beginning of a mass movment against croney corperate capatalism and corupt politics. This s**t has to go before there is any real change for the good of man kind.

SO will we be seeing any more posts from you Andrew? - it would will be impossible without a computer, produced by a capitalist company or using an operating system created by a capitalist sofware company. Without people who invest money into companies with an expectation to achieve a return, companies would not exist. Without them people won't have jobs or the affordable conveniences we desire as part of a modern lifestyle. You can call it what you want, but thats how the world works. Granted some greed went too far and that's a mess which all the biggest countries are sorting out to protect from happening again.
