You beat me to it Ian, I would have got the first three and the last one. The other two had me stumped. You obviously spend far more time at Wigram than I ever did!

I had to get permission because they did not want me to scare the other visitors away .... me in the cockpit making all these machine gun noises and a hell off a mess on the windscreen ... nah really just had to ask , let them no your plan and they are more than happy to help .. and course even explained to to some visitors about the type and history , had a bitta fun with a couple of Yanks , ex g/crew that were in nam , C119 and 123s transports only , guess why they liked the Bristol so much .

I used to clean the displays and do a bit of guiding when I was in school. A certain Wing Commander didnt like me because I wouldnt call him 'sir' and I was told not to return. I suspect that the fact I had no connection to the military had something to do with it aswell. Im still a bit bitter about it. The last time I was there, there was dust all over everything and numerous displays were labelled incorrectly. Not a good look.

Not even affiliated with the museum but on many visits took over from guides , never had to deal with the higher echelon although i submitted an application for a civilian job there just recent , last reply was the 15th last month .

I dd see many incorrect display labeling , DC-6 as Orion example , so obvious and that was during an open day !

Yeh none of that surprises me mate. As I said, not a good look for our national museum.
