Just a pointless poll. Should they bring corporal punishment back into schools?

HAHAHAHHA that was a genuine LOL moment... hahahaahah
They had corporal punishment in our school... although I think I remember maybe 2 people ever actually getting 'The Strap' . What I do remember was the fear and instant notice you took when a teacher would remove it from the bottomw draw and place it on the desk...
Bloody PC brigade is creating an entire generation of 'God's Gifts' if you ask me... both my Parents are teachers, and the tales I hear of schools these days is frightening... Last year, there were something like 22 reported cases of students attacking teachers in the Manawatu region alone!
Things like that never happened in my day...
And I was smacked as a child... never did me any flobadob...

Agree with the older generation here. It never did us harm, instead now we have Teenagers and Kids running around thinking they are bullet proof and no fear for when they do wrong.
Good kick up the backside never did any kid wrong they learn respect which is lacking now days.

I think teachers should be able to have alot more control over the children. Oh imagine how hard it would be to be a teacher, and having to resist the strong urge to punch the smart mouthed childs face in.
At my school, there was a pupil that assaulted a teacher after an argument in science. Then the teacher fought back, and gave the person a broken nose. The child then made a formal complaint about the teacher, and thats the last I saw of the teacher. Complete bullsh*t if you ask me
So yes, I think corporal punishment should be allowed back in. (and Im only year 10!)

I can understand where you are coming from. But if students need to be physically restrained, or have to express their anger using aggressive physical action, is it a good idea for them to be at a public school (or private, for that matter)?

Careful I think this topic is a bit to hot for a flight simulation forum dont you?
There are a lot of reasons behind a students behaviour that his peers would not understand. I believe in disipline and also in giving a second chance, to write someone off at school age is not fair on the individual no matter how strong you may feel.
Many of the school troublemakers from the past controlled by corporal punishment have gone on to become well respected people and world leaders. Exclude them further and supress what they can give later. Thats why disipline works!

!!!!!LOL!!!!! Im not at school so !!!!!BRING IT BACK!!!!! I know a kid who could do with a bit or corporal punishment considering he assaults teachers when he doesnt get his way and even I have been on the wrong end of his tantrums landing a fractured rib, black eye and blood nose (all from a 10yr old with a tennis raquet)

Lets keep this thread civilised and to the point. This is a flight simulation forum.
I'm sure people can go and post whatever they want on a Corporal Punishment forum somewhere else, just keep in mind when posting where you are.

One thing that can help with the discipline problem is compulsory military training. I've been to a few countries where CMT is required at the age of 17 from 6mths - 2 years. 6mths is quite reasonable and would give people who have no direction in life a better respect for freedom and attitude towards life. As for Corporal punishment at schools well its unlikely that any such law could ever be passed. I was brought up under such a school system and yes got the strap a few times and witnessed people getting the cane and a ruler. Out of those incidents there were innocent people that got punished by teachers for the wrong reasons and you have to bare that in mind that a child getting physically assaulted for no reason is something that will effect them later in life. Its better to train teachers in how to protect themselves and if a child is being violent to a teacher then they should be punished in such a way that they are able to see that it is a punishment. Such behaviour is usually caused by something at home and thats also where most problems start.

Yes this is a Flight Sim forum - BUT - if you look at the heading you will will see it called - OFF TOPIC. Its intended to be used for just that i would have thought.
That way if you don't want to read off topic posts then, guess what - you don't have to scroll to the bottom and read them !!!
