Looks pretty cool...though a bit dubious about the steering wheel being lashed with straps...or is it rope!!

Looked pretty instable to me.

Can't wait till someone cracks this concept.

No altitude for this one, 100ft circuit is about all smile.gif
and that would be hairy

80 years plus since the idea was first flown and nothing has ever gone past the concept stage or production of more that just a very few examples. Probably because cars do a good job on the road and planes do a better job in the air. Why get all complicated and expensive to combine the two when there really does not seem to be a market?
Amphibious cars also spring to mind. Been done - when was the last time you heard anything of the Gibbs Aquada?

I guess post war there was the dream that everybody would one day fly everywhere conveniently and safely using there own personal car/planes. But as we know flying or piloting is not that straight forward and is not likely to be the domain of the mass public anytime soon.

Rope...my man that is the autopilot!
There are so many reasons why these will never be mainstream it is hard to know where to start. Could you imagine the average Ma and Pa trying to get a WOF for starters!
