Here it is....again, the part is not too much of a challenge....its a trim control wheel....buts whats it from? Not a trick question, because i dont know....and i need too.
Like the last bit (still unidentified) 99% its American, due to the base colour of the metal......but beyond that, Im not sure....and niether is anyone else. Pretty sure its not P-40, or it wouldn't have been left for me to sort .
I havent had much time to look through parts books or pictures, so I'll throw out to you....and I'll look into it when i can. There are no part numbers on it.

A quick google came up with SPAENAUR, a Canadian company going back to the inter-war years.
They mainly dealt with automotive supplies, but had a specialty in fasteners... Probably had the know-how and the tooling to punch a swag of those little fellas out every day

Steve.. S.P.E.A , i thought off the Norduyn Aviation , they did many instruments/controls in the day for Lockheed , photos i don't have is a Ventura cockpit but were a very upgraded Hudson and many in service here , SPEA CONTROL ? that i have to research the meaning .

This is a Ventura Mk2 cockpit...is that the trim to the right of the engine controls? If so it's not quite the same as "our" one since ours has big grooves for the fingers whereas this one has small notches.

Hmmm in that shot I'd pick that more as a quadrant friction nut - I'd have picked the pitch trim in a Ventura or Hudson to be either the crank-handle type, overhead the pilot's seat or a large wheel almost a floor level on the quadrant

Wow...what a team of CSI type dudes you are. I havent made much progress on it Im sorry....but i did find out that those letters on top are S.B.A.E Control....not P, as i thought .
Im being moved from the store to #2 hanger next week to help with the Harvard project (gate guardian) so i may not get time to follow this one up for a while.
But , like you , Im thinking Ventura/Hudson......but...in the Avenger parts book, they have a section for S.B.A.E....but dont explain what it is...............pages are missing!

And of course the quadrant mystery still lurks in the background.
And some trivia for you....if you find an aircraft part , and it has a "VS" number on it,(eg: VS 1234) chances are its 99.99% from a Corsair......just thought I'd throw that in. This old brain is learning something new everyday.....gotta be good.

I suspect we have a Stabilized Bombing Approach Equipment control, which is part of the Nordon Bombsight. It all connected to the autopilot and this could be a control for inside the cockpit, rather than on the bombsight itself (I've found a picture and am having a look now but this wheel doesn't appear to be on the bombsight). American design, of course.

@ Marty That,s a thought , the big VS Vought-Sikorsky pre Chance Vought ... , lotta our Corsairs were Goodyear built and from plants a long way and later models .

@ J7G , ill check up on that tomorrow , don,t think its part of the Norden control unit , i do have photos and writings , be interesting to compare

Ive got a Norden in the store and i cant find anything that looks like the MMP on it......Thats not to say it isn't part of it.....or a bit from elsewhere that is also part of it....jeezz...if you know what i mean.
