Is it art....i think so.

A forum for everything else that does not fit into the other categories

I have been looking through hundreds of unposted screenshots....and the more i looked, the more i thought about whats involved in producing a screen....but is it art?

One definition is "Art is the product or process of deliberately arranging items (often with symbolic significance) in a way that influences and affects one or more of the senses, emotions, and intellect. It encompasses a diverse range of human activities, creations".......
Anyway, without getting all arty farty.....screen shots (Fltsim) are an art form...We therefore, by definition...are Artist's, no less than Gogan , van Gogh ....or any other dead , but clever person you care to name.

Not just the screen shots of course...without the "filling" its just a blank screen....so i guess the screenshot artist, is the last part of a larger picture.....all the elements have to be brought together.....and assembled as the "assembler" sees fit....................so.................everybody who contributes to flight sim, is an artist.

Its a long chain of events, that end up as a screenshot....some of the people involved may not even be aware of the importance of their "piece".....i suppose, like the people who made the paint that
Pablo Picasso used, had no idea what would be done with it and by whom.
Ive studied art history, and the one thing you really learn, is that nothing is set in concrete....everything changes, we take advantage of what is available (like us, with Fltsim)....and use it to express something, to someone....or maybe just ourselves.

Wow, what a lot of waffle.......resulting from a discussion about a series on the documentary channel, the power of art......anyway, long live fltsim and all the spin off from it...particularly... fltsim screenshots, i really think there is a place for it ..........

A couple, well three ,screens to try and explain my ramblings and thoughts...........

A fence, a fuel pump and an empty airstrip...well almost, theres a wing tip.......but still a great (i think) scene in it self.

Throw in a Mustang.........

Add all three......(i wish i could have painted it)

what i'm trying to say , in long winded way, is , thank you to all the people who make the pieces, and to all the people who put them together....i really think with some work , i can make something of this part of the hobby....with every screen thats posted Ive learnt something....cheers.
Im not expecting any replies to this this....just needed to get it out there.
