I was just listening to some music....ranging from chopin to the the stones....and in the middle, there was Gordon Lightfoot "early morning rain'. ...great song. He mentions "out on runway number 9, big 707 set to go" and i got thinking about how many other songs have a reference to aircraft/airports/ flying.......know any?

Dont know much old music lol,
but as for the newer generation of music the newish song "Like a G6", a modern rap/hip hop song is about about the Gulfstream G650 bizjet (G6)
its main line is "Flying high like a G6" which i think is to imitate the indulgent lifestyle of jet-setters, and also double meaning of 'flying high'...as in whacked out in the mind... sleep.gif
The music video also features the G650 which is pretty cool biggrin.gif

Cheer

Well, there's Lynyrd Skynyrd... Forever linked with aviation, sadly not for the right reasons.

How about Jefferson aeroplane? Who later became Jefferson Starship - Double link there for the Beechcraft fans.

Iron Maiden - Bruce Dickinson not only sings, but is also a 757 Captain for Astraeus and flew the band around on their Somewhere Back In Time tour in Ed Force One, a 757 - Flight No. 666 ninja.gif
Also their song, Aces High - about the Battle of Britain - off the Powerslave album...

Motorhead... Bomber, from the album of the same name

Rammstein... Taking their name from Ramstein-Miesenbach and the airshow disaster in 1988. Also their song Rammstein which is about that event.

On the same plane as Buddy Holly was Richie Valens and the Big Bopper. Some other famous singers/musicians that have died in plane crashes:
John Denver
Randy Rhoads
Patsy Cline
Otis Redding
