I have been a flight instructor on the Christchurch F.E Sim, and can certainly recommend it as an enjoyable job! Go for it biggrin.gif

Nice Shots Ian, it's certainly a cool machine to work on!!
Though Flight Experience is no longer at Christchurch now?
I believe it's only; Takapuna, Hamilton and Tauranga ??

I think the market might have met it's limit down there. Just not the population to sustain forever. I imagine that sim will get tidied up and sold to a new owner overseas, like the Queenstown sim did.

Oh ok bugger, bit of a shame sad.gif
So is the sim still down there waiting to be moved ?

I think our sim here is the only one located at an airport anyways...think having one at an airport as apposed to somewhere in the city is an advantage?
We use ours alot for IFR training and also few pilots on the field use it to keep current so even though the market has been quiet for everyone lately, we have still been pretty busy..

Very much the pity , Many never tried it for simply the cost , i do wonder if it could be viable at a lower costing somehow it could have been saved .

That's a shame, I haven't heard of how the team was going that was making them, but if the Christchurch one is closing are they still making them?

I remember at one stage there was 2 in Chch, northlands and one near the old railway station (been too long, can't remember the areas any more).

I know there is one in Perth here, drove past it for the first time the other day, but haven't had even the remotest of chances of getting there.

As far as I know there was only the one in Christchurch at a time. The sim that started out near the old CHCH railway station got moved to Auckland, (now Hamilton), and another sim got put into Northlands Mall. The business of building them met tough times last year, and closed down. However Russell has managed to get some new backing and started again.

Definitely worth pursuing if you meet the requirements and are passionate about teaching others to fly.

Yea a shame alright..though it is expensive to use, think we got a special at the moment $99 for 30 mins when it's usually $135 or something.
