Just a follow up to my post on Ian Warrens ANZAC screenshot.

Ive been researching a guy who i think is a relation of my dad's, dad. He was a rear gunner on lancasters back in 1942.(Sgt John Wallace Henry NZ405266 RNZAF)
You can read the other details in that post. Ive managed to find out quite a bit about him...ie: where he is now, how he got there and some basic unit history from his squadron (9 Squadron , RAF Waddington , Lincolnshire -5 group)...he and the rest of the crew where RNZAF.

What i really want is a photo of the aircraft and/or him. I have contacted the 9 Sqn historic site, but never get a reply. I have even obtained a copy of the page from the Ops log, from the night they went missing....chilling reading ...it names the crew, a/c type and number, and in the comments section..."Aircraft did not return. No signals or messages recived"

Just in case anyone else thinks they may have info or a picture, the other crew where: All RNZAF with Bomber Command

Flt Sgt Owen White , Captain 21 yo
Fg Officer Harry Burton , Navigator 25 yo
Sgt Noel Crowzier , Wireless op /gunner 21 yo
Sgt James Gray , Gunner 25 yo
Sgt John Henry, Rear gunner 26 yo

Any info will be great, as most of the family are gone now or oversea's and the trail has gone cold.

Regards

Marty
