2D help part 1

A forum for everything else that does not fit into the other categories

Guys, Ive been working on a project for Garry Russell (his bristol freighter) .....i offered to get some pics for the 2d cockpit......this has taken me to the Airforce museum here in chc (they are getting sick of me ) and all the way up to Omaka. I really thought it would be easy.....wrong!!......i know what they want, i picture the "pictures" i need.....Ive looked at dozens of 2D photographic cockpits, and do you think i can get it right......not on your life.

The guy Ive been dealing with in the UK (Nigel Howrd-Jones....really nice guy) is going to off line for a few months, and i dont think Garry is too well at the moment......anyway Nigel has passed me on to Dave Booker.....who has 2d'd just about everything unsure.gif ........I know they visit this forum, but i just wanted to get some feed back from you before i contact Dave....as he's a real stickler, and i dont want to waste his time.

I know the Wigram freighter has that perspex panel in some shots....but that can be removed.....i know the overhead shot is not right, and the "look left" from the right seat is a bit odd.
The "look left" from the left seat has caused some problems....i think there should be some more frame in the shot....but when you sit there, your shoulder is half up the window, and that view is what you see.......so hard to get the camera too "see" what you really see, in a confined space.
The other problem is, the 2 aircraft are completly different inside....the Wigram one has no right seat or yoke, so maybe photoshop will help here by combining the 2 some how.

Sorry to go on and on....but , please look at the pics (sorry so many) and tell me what you think............

Regards

Marty

See part 2....

Marty, for the 2D cockpit these would be all they need , all the info from those photos can be edited because off the hi res cool.gif Robin , Gary and myself were up there a couple years ago for a FSX model which is on hold but was the standard Mk31 .

I brought the pilots notes many years back , it compares the difference between the Mil and Civil models , quite the change .

I wouldn't mind reading those at some stage....the old 170 has got to be one of my top 10 aircraft.....i found some old airforce pics of mine taken back in 76, of 5906 parked outside the old airmovements shed at wigram, and also a few "out the oil stained" window shots......ahhhh, the good old days. Daks, devons, freighters , harvards. Seems like a million years ago now sad.gif

About the same year , i was only , heck the same distance as you where at Christchurch going thru the complete loading and then start up ... once that happened you were able to run up the stairs close to the now gone old International wing to get on top off the viewing platform ... hells back in the day that was always packed with people waving goodbyes or simply like me plane spotting !
