Another shot exaggerated by tele lens, however pretty dramatic anyway.

Seems the plane was about 145 metres from the fence when this was taken....

Hells great pic , plane spotters dream .. i cant recall the last time i saw a 747 at Christchurch , well within four ta five years

What's up with the 'wavey' parts over the EVA AIR part? Almost looks like it's a banner.

Last time I saw a 747 in ChCh Ian was about the same time, it was that mysterious JAL cargo looking thing. Heck we don't even get the A345 anymore! That's been replaced by a 777.

Its an awesome shot, apparently from a well know spot along that fence next to runway 36L at Amsterdam - Schiphol (AMS / EHAM) (Netherlands). The fence is not at the end of the runway at all although it looks it. The fence is actually to the side, but angled and there is plenty of runway left.

Looking at the mist being kicked up by the plane, i'd say the fuselage is covered by a fine dew or water droplets and this wavy pattern is the airflow disturbing that.
