Just to take you way off topic....i snapped these (and lots of others....but wont bore you with them) in the garden , and was thinking about the aerodynamics of these dudes.
The old bumble is really the bristol freighter of the bug world....compare his/her body mass with the wing area....no wonder they fly tail low. Must be constantly on the edge of a stall.
The other thing was huge, but from a physics point of view, in better shape.....but....butt ugly.

Also watch those little fly/bee things that can move like UFO's......unreal directional control. and perfect in the hover.....
If im not looking up....Im looking down, and then i miss all the stuff in the middle.....oh well.....enjoy the bugs boys

Suddenly occurred to me, after poking the borax, that this was an opportunity to show off this shot I took recently in my front garden.

Can't even think of think of a reason to link this with aviation though...?

Neat pic ..I haven't seen a frog in the wild for long time...plenty of skinks and geckos around our house though.

Thanks Paul....its an old sony cybershot (fold in half type) the close up and macro is great, Im not using it much for aircraft anymore(5megapixel and x3 optical zoom) it really cant cope.

I took a few close ups of cicadas, bumble bees and native wood pigeons at my folk's place over at Waiheke last time I visited. I printed and framed the cicada and bee and have them hanging in our smaller lounge. Also got a close up of a snapper eye I took while out fishing. Love macro photography! I've only for a Finepix F100fd compact at the mo. 12mpx, 5x optical zoom etc... saving up for a Nikon D90 at the moment.

The macro stuff is great....Im often seen to be chasing bugs and things around the garden, or getting close to ....god knows what. My japanese flatmates think its very funny, normally its them zooming around with the cameras.

Bazza was saying this saying this afternoon, that he couldn't find a link between his frog and a flight sim forum, but, i think the off topic is just as important. We all love the hobby, but its nice to share other interests as well.

While Im here, i would like to say (off, off topic) to anyone who reads this....that (in my opinion) you guys are great. I really thought for a while, that everything i enjoyed was over....how wrong i was.
This place has been the best medicine ever, Im getting on with stuff, and better everyday....anyway, enough of that....thank you all

I've decided that I'm too old and slow to crack it into the aviation photo scene, and my gear is a bit naff.....

However, I see an opening here for me, I could have become the Gavin Conroy (http://capphotography.ifp3.com/#/page/home/) of frog photography...,
only trouble is I don't know where the little bugger went to 5 minutes after I took the shot...

worth thinking about Bazza.
I'll find frogs for you....you keep an eye out for bugs for me....when Ive snapped them, I'll give them to your frog. That way it'll stick around.
