Hey guys, looking for an SLR camera. and just want to see if you guys have any. Not concerned about age really, as long as its good quality/condition and takes decent shots. anywhere from 1970's to current models are fine.

Good lens(es) is are added bonus smile.gif if its body only im sure my current SLR lenses and flash will fit fine.

My 2 current 35mm SLR's are great little cameras but things like the auto features are starting to shoot up to the great developing shop in the sky and the lens parts are starting to get a little worse for wear, being used in high moisture areas like the lake district in the UK and Mull ( a tiny island with lots of puffins, big cliffs and the great North Sea spray smile.gif ) are probably contributing to their deterioration. Also a bloody hassle to get batteries for those suckers, wish they ran on good old AA's.

I have a DSLR but you dont get the fun of developing your own pictures or the same great quality of shot that comes from a classic film camera.

Yes, I'm sure your Canon glass will fit my Nikon F601 tongue.gif

I haven't used the F601 for years so I guess it counts as a spare body - but without knowing what sort of glass you have ........

Cheers

Yeah good point, the main lenses i have are Pentax, but i do have 1 standard f-mount (not quite sure of its size, its a 35mm lens and thats all that matters i guess, i dont really have any of my lenses organised because half of them i dont have any bodies to fit them, wish all manufacturers had adopted a single attachment a long time ago ) lens that comes basic with the F series, although its not what i would normally use it would definitely fit the body

off to bed now tongue.gif, was up all night waiting for the sunrise so i could get a time lapse laugh.gif

I have Olympus gear (body plus a few lenses) that I hardly use now. Also - I have a truckload of developing/enlarging gear that I'm really not likely to use any more. Any use?

the developing gear, ummmm yup LOL

the olympus mmmm maybe, depends if anyone else has anything available. whats the model #??

i mean, i dont need any more than 1 proper SLR body and glass, anything more is just silly, i cant use more than 1 camera at once.

Currently im only into B&W Developing and thats the extent of my skills until i have the time to sit down and learn colour. probably wont get to learn colour for a few years because if i want a film developed into digital i just chuck em in my letter box and the rural postie takes them to the chemist and they chuck it onto disc and give me the negatives so i can try and wreck them developing prints laugh.gif

I'll dust off my gear and make a list. If you happen to be near Auckland at some time, you're welcome to drop by and see if there's anything in my treasure trove you may fancy. I've got a colour enlarger (and a b/w one) but I only ever did b/w prints.

OK - I'll make a list of the Olympus bits. I have some pics of my processing gear already made for Trademe. I'll post them here if you like. Or are you mainly after the SLR?

Another way would be to parcel up the SLR gear and send it to you. You can then let me know if you want it - and how much you think it may be worth. I'd rather any of my gear went to someone here at NZFF for a reasonable price than some faceless person on TM.

Just a thought ... where are your AKL rellies? Have they left yet?

yeah they are about 2 hrs away,

whats the model number of the camera??

im mainly after the SLR but if i can get the colour enlarger and the other bits thats an added bonus, perhaps we can discuss the processing stuff post-xmas/new year and just deal with the camera for now

Fair enough. The processing gear isn't exactly going anywhere, laugh.gif

I'll make a list of the Olympus stuff and take a pic or two with it's digital successor winkyy.gif

Told you, a Nikon F601 :-)

I think it's up at the bach, I haven't seen it around the house lately, and I think it's body only - but I haven't seen it for ages so couldn't be sure what's in that particular bag icon_redface.gif

I should think about doing something with my D80 too, I haven't turned it on since I got the D90 ...

hmmm, ya got me thinkin there happy.gif wouldnt mind another DSLR. the DSLR i have is a canon 300D which is funny because the D80 is "Nikon's answer to the 300D" ie the same level/grade. or around there anyway

wouldnt mind takin that off ya hands if i can afford it smile.gif if i do i dont think ill be able to sneak buying the SLR aswell, considering how much the DSLR's are.

but yeah, if i can afford and you'll let me, id like the D80

When did you get the D90?

I must have got the D90 about 6 months ago, I remember using it down at Ruapehu this season.

I also have a 70-300 zoom that might be handy - not the VR one, those are expensive :-)

Want to make an offer for the D80 and lens ?

Cheers

Have a look on trademe at current and expired auctions for D80 bodies - that's what I did to see what they are worth wink.gif

Mine is pretty low milage (I think well under 10,000 shots) and in excellent condition. I'll confirm the shots when I get home next. I have a feeling it may come with a free F601 as well ...
