Sunday the 11th of September and my usual trip to Abergavenny to meet up with all the Bikers in the Bus Station Car Park and the Ocean Café, where folks partake in various sandwiches, etc, and tea or coffee, and chat on the outside seats and benches!
The journey turned out to be a rather chilly start, 14*C, so I had donned my thermal vest and trousers under my motorcycle gear to keep me cosy....and its still September!!
Loads of Bikers with all sorts of bikes there. I ate my packed corned beef sandwiches, washed down with a nice mug of sweet tea, and had a chat with some of the Bikers there.
Lots of Japanese sports bikes and all-rounders and off-roaders, and the usual South Wales Harley Owners Group (HOG) members with a large selection of all their huge Harley-Davidsons shaking the concrete at tick-over!
One of my Lads with his new Triumph Triple and his Wife with her new Yamaha 650cc single, sports bike arrived there, but after I had left, so I missed them by minutes!
An enjoyable trip back home on my Honda Cruiser then followed, this time after we had removed the baffles from both exhaust pipes, resulting in a nice lively burble from them, instead of the usual quiet hum!

My twin-cylinder engine will never sound like a Harley Vee-Twin, (so I am told), but I can use my imagination!

Arrived back home to devour my Sunday Dinner: Chicken and Mushroom Pie, with all the usual goodies...and gravy!

OIL Changes, .. My old neighbour across the fence rented his place out three or so years back , John did keep the garage fill of junk over his years , really just wubbish .. being a avid golf war man did his back in, so come to getting a rid of the Wubbish he posted a Help required in the local super market ..

John ask me if they could use my place for coffee and such, pleased I never had to tho ... Dan and Ben ... should have been Bill and Ben the flower pot men , seriously DUMB and DUMBER ... even a simply task putting water in the radiator ... gets worst .. a borrow car because it had a tow bar , John had it for sale as well ... these two and John mentioned it is using a little oil and was fine for free refill's at his local mechanic.

OH BOY Bill and Ben really were not that bright , I just had a visit from John asking had I seen these two in the last couple days .. nope no sign , I was then told they blew the engine up , no oil , these two dropkicks , what they were doing .. BITS and BOBS and a BILL and BEN the flower pot men

Usually at the bike nights I used to go you would see 2-3 at first, now its like the "Gremlins" get them wet and they multiply!

Had a go of a "Tuned" one a few weeks ago and that didn't half fly with a 180cc kit with a small turbo etc.

May as well post a photo of my Chinese Zongshen/Lexmoto Arizona 125cc bike:

Snazzy looking machine John, early years I had a CG-125 , I simply could not kill it , the top end speed was well over 140 kmh .. economical and CHCH to Cheviot easy really turning and burning morning to evening with stops , was a great little machine.

I'd like to say it was comfy, but for long runs I do find my backside starts to get very numb fairly fast, it does get confused with a 250cc bike though at times.

I think it was something like 18-25 bhp that she was getting out of it, as she was looking at giving it a run at Santa Pod (drag racing strip in the uk)

It is a fact that these single "bucket" seats of our cruiser bikes, are far from as comfy as they look!

The ridge at the back of my seat crucifies my "tail bone" (thin bloke with a very thin arse) after a couple of miles, and I am forced to either stop for a while, or constantly wriggle about on the seat to ease the pain!
The seating position, with legs out in front, doesn't allow for taking the body weight on the legs and feet, like it does on "all-rounder" bikes and sports bikes!

The original seat, as fitted to my Honda Rebel, is the main reason why I don't cover fast distances, as I would like to!

From a practical point of view, the; "forward controls" and seating position on a Cruiser don't make much sense from a medical point of view....!

...far too much unsupported weight on the lower spine!

Cruisers were/are designed for over-weight Americans (with fat arses), and the rest of us to look; "Cruiser-Cool" .....in the shop windows as we pass by!... ...!

Once you have had two Pilonidal Sinus operations (please don't google), no matter how comfy a seat is meant to be it never is the same again!! 2 mins on any bike and its numb as anything.

The only thing I found comfy was the rack where the pillion seat attaches to on a HD Softail Deluxe!

You can probably get a seat custom made for the bike, with all the padding in the right area's.

.....not quite like a 1974, Harley Shovelhead, 45 degree, vee-twin....
