Needless to say, i do have it in my collection, on both VHS and DVD.
I would have to admit, ive probably watched it at least 150 times over the years, and i still havnt tired of it.
I would consider it a must-have aviation classic, right up there with other classics like "633 Squadron", "The Dam Busters", "Battle of Britain", "Reach for the Sky", "Memphis Belle", "Those Magnificent men in their Flying Machines", "Flyboys", "The Aviator", just to name some of ones in my collection.
Lawrie.
Theres one really awesome movie missing from that list.

For a French Topgun movie its quite good.

Pity about the Director passing away I was looking forward to Topgun 2 the movie which was rumoured to be in the making. As for the game Topgun I used to play Topgun Fire at Will which is based on the movie and was quite good. It was quite immersive as they scritped the RIO to make comments while flying and in dogfights. It also had actors from the movie Topgun as well as a really good storyline. It was so good I actually bought a 2nd copy of the games disc when the first one got a scratch on it eventhough I'd already beaten the campaign several times.

"Mav,...... do you have the number of that truck-driving school we saw,.......... Truckmaster i think it was,....... i might need that"![]()

I've had my first 20 minute byte of it - nothing we didn't do as kids y'know...
And possibly more dangerous: burning polystyrene tended to drip on bare skin, with an effect not unlike napalm!
When I grow up, I want to work on Top Gun 2, 3 and 4, and be in charge of the models.
Do it the Topgun way and use real aircraft. Funny seeing Tom Cruise puke in the back of the Tomcat lol.Last edited by SUBS17 on Tue Sep 04, 2012 1:13 pm, edited 1 time in total.
