I know you don't know me, and I don't know you. But anyone that quotes Dr Suess is gotta be a Good Ol Kiwi.
Make sure you let them Both know just how much you Love them (which I'm sure you are). We all take our parents for granted, and then when they are gone we never stop thinking about them.
Life is Short! Too short. Don't miss out telling those you Love... How much they mean to you.
All the Best to you and your Family.
Will do Sinz.....and have been doing so.
Thanks very much for the reply......stress plus at the moment, but all's good.

Cheers Moff....keep posting those screens, i may not comment, but Im lookingIslandBoy77 wrote:QUOTE (IslandBoy77 @ Jun 29 2012,9:32 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>That's all sounding good with your Mum, Marty. Pleased to hear that you've found some useful common ground where you and your Dad can chat and connect: I know how hard it can be sometimes to find enough to talk about - I've always got to drive the conversation with my Dad these days.
Thanks Pete, i know what your saying....its hard work sometimes.
Thanks again.

Just want to wish your mum all the best for her op tomorrow.
I feel for you - I've had to nurse both my parents at some stage and it's not easy - it's really draining both phyiscally and mentally. But I looked as payback time for all they did for me when I was a kid - anyway the're the only parents you've got - so you have no choice.
Times like this it's hard to stay positive, but try too.
Paul
Thanks Paul,
Its odd, you spend most of your life getting looked after by them, and then......anyway, just had a call from the doc who did the op and too quote him "so far so good, but Im happy with what we did" She's in ICU now . Its been a long long day.
The old man is not to good , and Im taking him to the doc in the morning, and Im 99% sure he will end up in there(hosp) as well......which , in a way is good.
Just need to get them both back home in good condition asap
Thanks for your thoughts....means a lot

I can totally relate to what you're saying - my Dad's gone from being active to a shell of a man who shuffles around the place looking 100 - and he's only just gone 70. I can understand it would be even worse for you, though, since your Dad sounds like a very physically active sort where mine has been more of an intellectual "active" type (but not now). I agree, it seems rude... ditto for your Mum.
Cheers Pete.......real hard work, but you just do it.
Thanks again for the contact and support......you hang in there too.

My wife has just had her 6 monthly check up and the time has come to get her heart valve replaced too. Not something to look forward when you are just over 40, but we always knew it would come one day. Looks like it will happen before Xmas.
Deane, Im sorry too hear that about your wife......but let me tell you.....my old mum is twice the age of your good lady and she is doing really well......so dont worry, all will be good.
Thanks very much for your wishes.....and the same too you and your wife.......mavman wrote:QUOTE (mavman @ Jul 5 2012,10:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Marty, I hope your parents are back to full health again soon....looking forward to seeing more of your screenshots when you eventually get back home.
