Without people who invest money into companies with an expectation to achieve a return, companies would not exist. Without them people won't have jobs or the affordable conveniences we desire as part of a modern lifestyle. You can call it what you want, but thats how the world works. Granted some greed went too far and that's a mess which all the biggest countries are sorting out to protect from happening again.
Which is exactly why I called it crony capitalism. A real capitalist market promotes free think thinking and global free trade, "a chance for everyone to make somthing of them selves" as Gorge Bush put it. A true capital market has a fair set of rules that EVERYONE has to play by. Did you know that companys like General Electric and Apple inc pay nearly zero tax while their small competitors pay the standard corperate tax rate. This is not a free capital market. It is a rigged and corupt market. The oposite of true capitalism.
What we have is a corupt uregulated market where the biggest global companys write the rules and laws of the land by paying off and heavily lobbying the governments, increasingly changing the rules against the small guy. This is most prevalant in the big global agricultural and pharmac companys. The global finacial system is completely and utterly unregulated and buisy bankrupting coutries with crazy derivetive and credit default swap schemes which led to the 2008 meltdown. These crazy schemes are still being used in the EU crisis and some of these suicidal bankers are being undemocraticaly put into positions of power as a so called fix towards the problem when they themselves created it. The culprits of the intial 2008 crash where never brought to justice, instead most of them, ex goldman sachs are sitting pretty at the white house with positions in the treasury department still minipulating the rules to suit themselves.
As i said above this is the opposite to a true and fair capital market and untill this s**t goes, it aint gonna get better any time soon.
Phew that got a bit heavy, I cant wait untill im in my new house, get my flight sim system up and running and buying some of the cool new addons that have being released over the past month or so. That way the dark looming 2012 clouds may start to burn off a little.Last edited by AndrewJamez on Mon Dec 26, 2011 7:09 pm, edited 1 time in total.
