Mediterranean airborne activity today.

Postby Splitpin » Fri Nov 03, 2023 3:17 pm

I've been home all day nursing my very sick partner, so between temperature checks and medication, I've been looking at flight radar.
The Mediterranean is really busy. Followed an RC-135V out of Crete "Homer23" which spent most of the day flying a race track over the sea between Cyprus and Egypt. He was joined for a while by a Poseidon for an hour or two.
Also spotted an RAF Typhoon and a KC-2 tanker going to Cyprus. Three KC-135s operating in Saudi, with a combined airframe age of 179 years!.
Numerous C-17s ex Germany going to and from Jordon. There are still 2 Poseidon working now.
I'm pretty sure there will be others that won't show up on the flight radar site. I was amazed that the RC-135 was visible...but maybe it was meant to be :ph43r:

Must go, have to do my nursing rounds.

This is interesting, 3 Il-76TDs out of Moscow, working for the "Ministry of Emergency Situations" going somewhere.
