Working on the Romans

While having my leg in the air, I've done a bit more than screenshots ... I've been working on cleaning some old roman coins I've had floating around for some time.
It's a long process, soak in distilled water for a week, agitate, rinse, and repeat..... for weeks, and no guarantee you will have anything of interest.

So far, the only one I have that can be verified by age and name (by a coin dude) is from 338 AD ....which confuses me..... how long ago was 338AD ?
I get the AD thing, but the birth of Jesus is subject to debate...so, is there an approximation?

The AD338 coin was minted when ....."Constantine II (Latin: Flavius Claudius Constantinus; February 316 – 340) was a Roman emperor from 337 to 340. Son of Constantine the Great and co-emperor alongside his brothers, his attempt to exert his perceived rights of primogeniture led to his death in a failed invasion of Italy in 340."





I still have a few more to do.....

Some magnificent buildings, and, of course, our present road system!
They didn't stop here for long, AD43 - AD410, but their imprint can be seen everywhere!
The present A4103 Roman Road lies a mile north of me, and I travel its route through my local countryside on many occasions!
The Roman Chariots always accompany me, on my rides!
Followed by the Norwegians, Normans, and Anglo-Saxons.
A wonderful part of our history...
...and me...a very Ancient Briton!
