If you want a Lightning, one of those Corgi ones would fit the bill... they're quite impressive.

I've honestly never thought about it. I guess I could... if you want a two seat Lightning though, you'll have to find the kit.

Box of goodies arrives from the UK this morning. 12 days door to door so you can't really complain about that.



Two Hunter conversion kits to build the prototype and world record F3, full set of Lightning stencils, Hunter ladders and FOD guards (I might even bitten off more than I can chew...) and remove before flight tags... just for fun.

Rearranged the display cabinet to house everything I've built since 2020. Looks a lot like some of the museums that have far too many aeroplanes and not enough space... Nine different aircraft types and 12 different squadrons.

The last round of purchases are starting to come in just before I head overseas. This was from a small second hand dealer in the UK, again, two weeks shipping.



MPM Meteor FR9 for my 79 Squadron collection. Decals are still on the way and I'll either get another one of these or wait until a FR nose is released for the upcoming Airfix one to do the second decal option.
The other thing is one of the Hunter T7 conversions for the Revell kit. Quite a lot of work but nothing I can't handle I don't think.

There seems to be some interest in building 1/72 airliners although I can't imagine why... These have appeared on Hannants



They've also done a range of 727s. No idea what they're like but I suspect they'll require a little work.

Nick, they (BPK) do a good-looking 73-800, and a Posideon ...mixed reviews, but I will have one ( 800) heading my way soon.

Yeah I suspect they're a bit 'limited run'. Be impressive but no way I'll be building one. When I get home, I'll put a photo up of all of the things that I've acquired while I've been away

For those of the airliner persuasion, there are a few 1/144 kits being sold by a guy in the Wairarapa on trademe right now

Well, what a morning, went to a garage sale to have a look around ...looking for a cheap bookcase.
As I was leaving I noticed a wing sticking out of a box on the back of a ute, I asked the lady if I have a look. She said it was just some of her ex-husband's stuff, and I could take what I wanted.
The wing was attached to a part built 1/100 Tri Star, quite an old model, and hard to find. I paid good money for one some time ago and have it in storage.
I offered her $10.00 for it, and she said just take it...and I did. It's in pretty bad shape, with a bit of damage. Luckily, some of the broken bits were hiding in the box along with some of the original sprue.
Got it home and started to do some repairs, just couldn't find one little piece of wing tip ...strangely same the as the one I already have.
I'm going to use it as work up to building the other one. I managed to get a full-detail decal set from Nazcar Decals a while ago...will be interesting to see how they fit as there are no other L-1011s being made in that scale.

Going to have to try and paint inside that intake, the engine (not there) is located at the bottom of the intake under the tail .

For its age its very detailed, beautiful recessed panel lines that appear to be in scale ...but who cares.
This will end up being semi-gloss white, no livery and detail decaled.

Will keep you posted ....747-8 is hold for a while.

That's a project and a half. For the wingtip, just get some Squadron or similar filler
