"This one will test us." It will indeed Charl...I just hope the Government extends the lockdown for at least another week .....including the South Island ...just my opinion. But I feel we are destined for the Australian model...But it is what is, and we have done it before.
NZ got it right, from day 1. On this side of the ditch it has been a complete schemozzle. The behaviour of the media has been appalling, any sort of rumour will do so long as it starts a panic and sells another paper. The first people to receive vaccines should have been the front-line medical staff. Not that it mattered, because the PM had not only failed to purchase a sufficient supply, but also failed to provide the facilities for injecting it and people to staff those facilities. He is one of those 'managers' who seem to think it is only necessary to announce a plan for it to happen, without providing the wherewithal. Talk about useless poseurs !!

Mike have you watched Utopia? It pops up here on Netflix and just makes ya shake yer head. For me it's a bit close to reality so have to limit the dose
As to the lockdown, better believe it could go on a bit, it's to do with the R0 number. Heartening to see the cars queueing for testing in Albany this morning: went over the horizon. It's the only way we'll nail it down.

Charl, I don't have Netflix, or any of the others. About the only TV I watch on purpose is the start of the Sydney-Hobart race- that is reality TV. We see quite enough cynical incompetence, corruption, and wilful stupidity in daily life, without bringing a televised version into our homes. Off with their heads!!

Interesting, the lockdown has apparently locked down most NZFF members' keyboards, too. You'd think with 4 walls to entertain you, there'd be plenty of ahh, SIMULATION. And tales and screens of all those virtual exploits. Or, does everyone usually contribute from the Office?
I have not missed a single day of work due to lockdowns. Can be both a curse and a blessing be able to work from home. but when you are self employed, being able to carry on working is a godsend !!

Bloody annoying I can't go out to Omaka this weekend and work on planes though. Can't win 'em all I guess!!
Hang in there DB I've got to go in tomorrow for a couple of hours to check on a few things, I'm only about 10 minutes from the site, all the others are a long way off. Strange times.
I was supposed to go back to work in PNG on Tuesday. Zero flights out of Nelson now and I had a plan to get to Christchurch to fly to Auckland. Then today, out of nowhere, Australia shut the door. In transit? We don't care. No way to get to work at all now. Pretty pissed off. I have so many credit notes with Air NZ now that I'm confused.
