The times they are a-changing

Postby emfrat » Sun Apr 04, 2021 7:00 am

I just noticed all the Oz eastern states* have changed their clocks on the same date. I think this is the first time this has happened since we signed an international agreement to standardise the start/finish dates of Daylight Saving, twenty-odd years ago. That went by the board before the Sydney Olympics.

A pet hate... happily most timekeepers around here are sentient, thus depriving the people who mess with my time of my manhours trying to figure out how to adjust it.
It's a dying notion, mercifully, and 60% of the world eschews the notion.
Mike you are an early riser, by any measure!

Charl, not usually at 0330 as today. I woke about 3am and by half-past I was sure I wasn't going to get back to sleep so I thought I may as well get up. I like to get up around daybreak, because you can get 4 or 5 hours of work in before it gets too hot. When I was commuting to Bris, I caught a bus at 0645 to connect with the 0730 train, so the alarm was set for 0445. It still is - I have left it there just for the pleasure of switching it off and going back to sleep.
