Like a lot of others, I've been saying goodbye to the central city. The thing which stuck me the most is how quickly nature gets re-established. Just one shot of the cathedral -- not a good shot, but I really needed to see the cathedral to be sure that it is truly irreparable. No doubt there now. Alice's in Videoland features a lot here -- it is amazing to see it standing all alone, it just shows that it is really possible to build earthquake-proof buildings. This was build shortly after the Napier earthquake, well exceeding requirements, but it goes to show that maybe these should have been minimum building requirements.

So why did this not become the standard .... >Reason: to many dot coms for example with money and bribes ... money talks and since Christchurch was considered the safe city .. turn a blind eye and pass the blame , a modern CTV building is proof of that .
