I usually like to recreate air accidents on my sim,but this one is beyond me at the mo',need a bit more info-alt,airspeed,weather etc...
The Bannermann crash on approach to CHCH from Palmerston Nth in fog is one I spent time on.
The DC10 featured on 'seconds from disaster' the other night would have to be the most amazing(so they can repeat it as much as they like(and they do)as far I'm concerned)
The reason aircrashes make the news is because they are so rare.Thousands of take-offs and landings every day around the world,I'm amazed there isn't more of them,even 5 airliners a day would be fairly good odds wouldn't it?
Think about motorcars,we know the most dangerous trhing about flying is driving to and from the airport.
Of course nothing I've stated here is any comfort to those who've lost loved ones in air accidents.

Even if this was caused by lightning the Russians always seem to be unlucky when it comes to air accidents.

Indeed, I watch that show weekly and would like to recreate it someday when my sim is working again. Know where to find a DC-10 in the 80's United scheme?

As for the Russians, yes, they always seem to be having plane crashes don't they? Perhaps it is because they are not as technologically advanced as the rest of the commercial airliner world...

yeah, nothing against russians or anything. they just can't seem to make flying safe. fire on board is no good
