I see the RNZAF herc has been buzzing tauranga the last two day, much to my chargrin, as i forgot to take the camera to work!!! anyone else seen her, i think i will take the camera tomorrow just in case

the last touch and go i saw them do it was like they aimed for the tower!!!!!

They've been around Rotorua as well a couple of times lately.

perhaps they are cruising for chicks,

by doing circuits around hamilton, rotorua and tauranga

Yea they are using alot of Bay Sector IFR training slots over the last fue weeks as well....
The other day was in hold at hamilton at 6000ft and had a Herc below me and another on the NDB/DME arc
From wat i have herd they do the instrument approach then circle visually a few times then disappear off some ware else, i have seen this done at new plymouth and taupo in the past as well...

Yea sounds about right NZ06AR they would have been sitting around 2500-3000ft passing over-head the city we saw them do about 4-5 passes and they dissappeared so we figured they had landed at NZHN.
PS: NZ06AR what were you flying around in Fixed-Wing or Rotary

Saw them too, went on a cross country on Wednesday AR-CX-UN-TG-WK-RO-AP-MA-AR, when we stopped off at RO for a casual feed a herc rolled in and did circuits.
NZ06AR was flying a BE76 Duchess

As travnz said i fly a BE76 so yes fixed wing...... but i have to say i have never been in a whirly bird...

Paddy, ive been in a chelicopter, next time i go up in one..... i'll get you the hookups also...
