dunno who first but Air NZ was the second to order so when you go an your trip to Hong Kong, if you go on Air NZ you'll probably go on one of those (about a 30-50% chance I'd say)

ANA were the first order and since Air NZ changed there order to the -9s we will not be receiving them until i think its like 2010

I thought the 787's were replacing the 767's. The 767's fly to Ozzie and Japan, where as the 777/747 does the Hong-Kong to London trip.

The nose looks really ugly in my opinion, but otherwise it's not bad looking at all. :)

I don't think 'replacement' is the right word, the 787 is a bit different to the 767. 787 has a bigger range and MTOW than the 767-300ER, so even AKL-LAX/SFO is a viable option for the 787. So I don't see the 787 directly replacing the current 767 routes per se, so we'll see a shuffling of the long haul services, maybe using more A320s around the Pacific.

Those slideshow pictures aren't done really well, they are stretched vertically making it look rather yuck. There were some pics of it on Airliners.net, but I'm not sure where they are now.

Can't wait till it's in service. Mind you it does look like just an upgraded 737. :(

????
How exactly does this 787 look like this 737, apart from the fact they both have wings and engines and a nose and a tail?

the 787 looks sleek with its snose and shark fin tail, whereas the 737 looks chunky with its pointy nose, giant winglets and mishapen engines
