Two F-111s are in NZ today and tomorrow for low level exercises over the South Island (near or over Queenstown, Hokitika and parts of the West Coast) and the North Island (included are flights near or over Taupo, New Plymouth, East Cape, Rotorua and Tauranga) tomorrow.

They are based in Ohakea for the the time they are here - departure time is about 11:30 am on both days (hope I got my times and locations right). Should be over Tauranga tomorrow about lunch time so I might catch them.

Will there be anything around Wellington?

No don't think so - unless they plan to take out the Beehive!

Probably a lot higher altitude over Wellington if they fly over and in this weather you won't see anything anyway.

Saw the pair of them do a low pass at ZQN yday then a climbing turn to head back North, very cool. I was pleased I'd just landed, dunno what the jetblast off them would be like
