Does anybody know where I could find the carbon emissions emitted from different types of aircraft?

Don't have any numbers, but an oft quoted statistic here is that the total emissions from all UK GA aircraft over the period of one year is equivalent to 18 minutes of emissions from UK road traffic.

Global aviation accounts for no more than 4% of world carbon emissions.

Don't have sources though, sorry. :(

I've been looking for 15 minutes, and can find pretty much nothing.

There is nothing that I can see that says about specific aircraft emissions.

Aviation is responsible for:

    * 2% of global carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions
    * 13% of CO2 emissions from all transport sources, compared to 75% from road transport
    * 3.5% of the total man-made contribution to climate change

That's all I can really find, sorry.

Air New Zealand says that globally aircraft account for 2% of emissions I think.. Maybe check out the environment section at their website?

thanks for your help. Is there any way to figure out the amount of CO2 emitted for each hour say. (I want to find this out for the 737-300, A320-200, 747-400, A340-600)

That would depend on what sort of engine they have - perhaps have a look at the engine manufacturers site? :)

How much fuel per hour would each of these use (in litres)

The 733 and A320 Use Around 650-950 Litres per Hour I think

I think the total is expected to rise to something like 10% of the total world emissions by 2050.

Personally global warming is a have...just another excuse for the NWO to tax us! :ph43r:

you've gotta look at the positives of global warming.

I live up a hill. Global warming = ice caps melt = sea levels rise = I get beachside property = house is worth more = more to spend on flightsimming. :D = winner!

The advanced calculator lets you choose the aircraft type.
