Took these about 3 weeks ago, thought they might be of some interest here. Aircraft is ZK-FVA which some of our members will certainly be familiar with.

The mighty Grumman trainer! :P

Lining up on 03 at Ardmore.

Not a very good photo, but it shows the panel decently.

Arrival at Thames. If you happen to land short, there are some oxidation ponds to arrest your fall.

...are those birds?

Fortunately we didn't hit the birds, although they did cause a moment of some concern when we took off again a while later.

Now, if you were going to own a 172, wouldn't you at least have an interesting paint scheme on it?

A vision of ruggedness; this Grumman Super Ag-Cat appears to have had some after market modifications done to it as well. The caption behind the cockpit reads "Greasy bellied money sucker"

...mind you, -DEA ranks quite highly in the ruggedness stakes too by the looks of it.

That's it; probably will have more photos to post in future when I have time.

Ahhh the good ol grumman AA1 trainer ! Ive done all of 1.4 in one of those beasts - a type rating and a ferry flight from masterton to nelson,- all of which with the canopy back :D Very cool (literally :P ) Would love to have some fun in one but this one had a dodgy engine so not so keen <_< Maybe i'll have to come up to awks and borrow one. Plannin on grabbin the C180 sometime if you guys still got her somewhere ;)

Awesome photos, always great to see plenty of photos on here of peoples various flying experiences,- and various planes  >nzflag<

Cool pics!

It was neat to see what Thames looks like from the air, as I was there during the summer doing a bit of ground based photography myself: http://z11.invisionfree.com/nzff/index. ... topic=1945

Thought I reconised these two:

The 180 you speak of, ZK-JFG, is indeed still with AAC. I should point out that I'm not actually an AAC member; just an Ardmore Flying School student with a friend at AAC who takes me for flights sometimes.
