Yes, because I'm sure everybody wants to be flying that death-trap, i really like to have all 4 cylinders firing, and TAP aint much better, although it has a new engine in it...

TAQ wouldn't be a real plane if everything worked. ;)

Does TAP have the same navigation setup as TAQ? (i.e. nothing)

"Tango Alpha Queer" is what Ive been told... :P

Yes I have to admit that both TAP and TAQ have little in the way of Nav equipment...

What equipment DO they have? And what do Massey use for IFR training (if they even do that, I'm unsure)

As far as I know, just one VOR... :P

Yeah just a rotatable card VOR, but these aircraft are used for VFR, so there is no need for anything else, AFS have 2 x g1000 172's for single engine instrument ratings, and the 2 duckys which have everything in them, EZX has an EHSI (sandell) and JED just has a regular old school HSI..

Well, compared to the types I've flown, (massive total of 6 different aircraft), only one had any nav equipment, an Aerobat that had 2 VOR indicators (might've had ADF, I'm not sure). One other, a 172, had a GPS, but not one of the fancy flightsim ones, but I'm not sure if that really counts.

So because this is happened twice you automatically assume that it will happen again?

To begin with basic IFR we use the Cherokee's, as they are fully IFR equipped including Autopilots. Then once we do actual IFR then its into the Piper Seneca's. So we finish up with a Multi-Engine Instrument Rating :)

I didn't actually try them (assuming you're talking about JZT) :o I might have a poke around if it's out next time I'm down at the airport, - I didn't go last weekend cos of the bad weather.
