Walrus

Playing with the Grumman Duck in the sim, I still feel it is a very odd design indeed.
Then was reminded of a visit to the Navy Museum, where there is a model of HMNZS Achilles.
The ship was in service between 1936 and 1946, carrying a Supermarine Walrus:
It is a contemporary of the Duck, and has all the bits in the proper place, like high mounted wings and an overhead pusher engine.
Riding the catapult must've been quite an experience
They gave Eyes to the Fleet until ship radar was fully developed and made them obsolete.
