But... the French govt announced a future ban on short haul flying, citing emissions.
Good way to get electric planes in the sky then.
If they work on the prop acoustics they could be Good Neighbours.

I think the French are expecting people to take high speed trains instead, which to be honest as much as my aviation enthusiast side is disappointed, actually makes sense in a lot of Western Europe where for ~1 hour duration flights the train is often just as fast or even faster once you factor in all the additional delays you have with boarding and disembarking an aeroplane.

A high-speed train can deliver 10 planeloads, city-centre to city-centre in less time than it takes one plane to travel airport to airport. Trains will win up to around 3 hours journey time, beyond that, planes have the advantage.
