Probably a brakes problem I'm guessing. Hopefully not a "they were set" sort of problem...

Does sound like main gear. 3/4 blown.. there will surely be questions.

It's a fairly "mature" fleet.
Googling: Some are half a century old, 25,000+ hours.
Maybe some stuff is going to break now and then...
Wonder how long a Poseidon lasts?

Probably half that of an Orion.
Unbelievable that they cant operate it from Whenuapai.

My understanding is about half the cost of the Poseidon purchase is tied up in new base facilities.
I am wondering why they can't go to Blenheim?
Plenty of land to extend the runway if needed, and it's pretty much in the middle of the country.
