I didnt see the 154 leave, I worked in the morning and then went home to get changed. I went flying in the afternoon. I snapped these quickly while over in the Wairarapa. I was practicing my forced landings

Cool Choppernut  Where exactly is the Wairarapa? Is it that flat area over the hills to the east of Wellington?

'Tis indeed. In that last shot Wellington is over those hills to the right.

Exactly. If you look on a map, the Wairarapa directly east of WLG. In that last photo, you can see the South Island in the distance. Southern Wairarapa is really good for flying, our low flying zone extends all the way up to Lake Ferry from the coast. One of the biggest in the country so Im told.

Haha well spotted, yeah its changed to JNE now. Its the initials of the owner girlfriend, makes sense i guess. She is a really quick ship aye, a lot of guys have difficulty flying her. Can be quite slippery some times.

Very true. She used to have 125hp mod and really went well, used to get 110kts in a straight line which is real quick for a tommy :plane: That engine pooed itself and so it went back to 112hp with the next one :(

Here's the same plane doin the same thing, solo forced landing practice but on the way back. About 3 years ago atleast, tell by the cr@p quality of digi cameras

The trim characteristics are all different to the other machines. You could trim it out and then look away for a second and it would be climbing again. I get along at about 110kts with just me in it.

Can be in strong winds, she will get away from you if you dont keep your wits about you. Quite a few new pilots dont like flying her.
